Supervisor- The Management Control of S2 Platform

Supervisor

The Supervisor serves as the Information Center, managing the operation of all equipment. With high throughput, allows a wide range of connections: connecting to a LAN, Internet connection via dial-in telephone lines, ADSL connection over leased lines, distributing information and ensuring the full effectiveness of various equipment interconnected in any place of installation. Thanks to this feature, new systems and equipment can be interconnected without the need to purchase other equipment, ensuring the development and increase functionality without exchanging conventional control panels extremely expensive.

The Supervisor is the main constituent of the S2 system, is the connection with the covers, probes and sensors that are located in hazardous areas. It has the capacity to supply food and access to communication via RS 485 intrinsic safety barriers, in compliance with international safety standards.

Supervisor Gabinete

The Supervisor has the following features:

  • Barriers triple that support up to 24 different devices (SmartProbe, or SmartSeal MuxLiq), concentrated in a single enclosure;
  • The switching power supply and Full-Range, ie, operates on any AC voltage between 90 and 250V, need not, therefore, pre-configuration;
  • Base plate with additional features, these features allow more control of the system as a whole.

At various points in the enclosure (side, bottom, bottom) there are cutouts in a circle for easy cable entry. Break the cut and remove the plate to make the passage of the cable from the field to the system. Use the number of cuts which are necessary to better routing and cable management.

Internally, the Supervisor is divided into six main blocks:

  1. Microcomputer Industry: PC system with preinstalled software, which manages all the elements of S2 System: SmartProbe, SmartSeal, MuxLiq, and SmartConsole SmartDispenser;
  2. Power Supply with UPS Corporate: Generates the voltages needed to power all devices internal supervisor and also for the intrinsic barriers of protection, and also incorporates a UPS, which keeps the system powered on continuously for a time even in case of AC power failure;
  3. External connections RS 232 and RS 485: For communication with the microcomputer SmartConsole and other devices;
  4. Voltage Converter: circuit that generates voltages (12VDC and 5VDC) for the PC Advisor;
  5. Intrinsic Safety Barriers: circuits that provide power and allow the communication of the Supervisor and SmartConsole with other devices installed in hazardous locations. The barrier meets the standards necessary for safe operation of the system in accordance with international standards;
  6. Base Plate System: card that does all the control communication between the various devices connected to the barriers, the supervisor and SmartConsole, and provide diagnostics and local action in the case of Supervisor triple barriers.

Operation in Safety System

Information about the Advisor are easily obtained through the side menu. Thus, information supply, relays, batteries and their voltage values are shown clearly.
